The Venzuelan Association for the Conservation of Natural Areas – ACOANA – established in 1995, is a non-profit civil Association of environmental and social character, whose purpose is to promote, encourage and facilitate the protection of the right of human beeings to a healthy, safe, ecologically stable environment, based on the conservation of biodiversity and the human right to health. Its social purpose is met through research-action activities, documentation, education, divulgation, training of human capital, donations, social and charitable assistance, as well as any other lawful activity that helps in the pursuit of its goal and social purpose.
