Neglected Diseases

2013

Through an ecohealth approach, integrated into the malaria program in remote areas with vulnerable native population, in the South of the State of Bolivar, this project contributes to the control of tropical diseases in Venezuela. The project promotes actions of technical assistance and training of community health workers (microscopists and nurses), to improve intestinal parasitosis diagnosis in the remote areas of the native territories Ye ‘kwana and Sanema. It also promotes learning environments for good sanitary practices at home and in the community with the purpose of preventing and controlling intestinal parasitosis.
